A total of nine people including Chintasutra’s associate editor Salah Uddin Mahmud have been awarded the “AbulMonsur Ahmad Essay Contest” award.
The award giving ceremony was held at The Daily Star Centre on Sunday. The award was given in three categories
The first prize winner got Tk 10,000. The second prize wasTk 5,000 and the third prize was a set of books written by Abul Mansur Ahmad. Apart from, every winner was also given a crest and a certificate.
Salah Uddin got the third prize in the topic of anti-establishment ideas in Abul Mansur Ahmad’s short stories. Binoy Dutta secured the first place and IfratJahan secured the second place.
JubaerShaon, NewazFerdousRochi and GaziAbdur Rahimsecured first place, second place and third place respectively in the topic of Abul Mansur Ahmad’s thoughts on politics and nationalist perspective.
BangaRakhal, Shirin Sultana and MdBillalHossen were given the award in the topic of contribution and relevance of Abul Mansur Ahmad in societal change.
Professor Chengis Khan and Journalist Kajal Rashid Shahin handed over the awards to the winners.
Earlier, Professor Biswajit Ghosh, Vice Chancellor of Rabindra University, announced the result of the contest through Facbook live.
Emeritus Professor Sirajul Islam Chowdhury, President ofAbul Mansur Ahmad SmritiParishad, Professor Monon Kumar Mondol and Professor BarenduMondol and Assistant Professor Kudrat-e-Khuda joined in the discussion.
