Bogura Lekhak Chakra Award distributed

Bogura Lekhak Chakra Award was handed over at a programme held at the auditorium of Bogura Zilla Parishad on Saturday.  Bogura Lekhak Chakra honoured five individuals with the award. Sarker Masud received the award for his contribution to Bangla poetry, Moni Haider for fiction, Tapan Bagchi for folklore, editor of Jolodhi Nahida Ashrafi for editing literary magazine and Arif Rehman for journalism.

Each awardee received a crest, prize money and certificate. Bogura Lekhak Chakra president Islam Rafiq delivered the welcome speech at the event.  Renowned translator and actor Khairul Alam Sabuj was present as chief guest at the programme, which was presided over by the founding president of Bogura Lekhak Chakra Sheikh Firoz Ahmed. Alak Paul moderated the programme.

Makid Haider, Mahmud Kamal, Ariful Haque, Toufiq Hasan, Palash Khandaker, Shibly Moktadir, Sudip Kumar Chakrabarty, among others, attended the programme.  Poets, namely, Farid Ahmed Dulal, Ashik Akbar, Jahangir Firoz, Biren Mukherjee and Aniket Shamim, among others, recited poems at the programme.

Besides, fiction writers, namely, Kabir Rana, Anif Rubed, Nurquamrun Naher, Nishat Islam and Abdul Razzak, among others, discussed on the topic titled Bangladesher Kathasahitya O Tar Pathakshreni.  Bogura Lekhak Chakra was established in 1988. It has been honouring individuals for their contribution in their respective fields since 1989.
